Driver charged with DWI in Knightdale crash

Authorities said a driver was making a U-turn in the 1800 block of Old Crews Road at about 6:10 p.m. and failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

The driver, who was not identified, was struck by a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old woman. The woman, and a 4-year-old in the back seat, were taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Highway Patrol troopers said.

The driver facing charges was also treated for minor injuries, authorities said.
