A driver was charged with DWI on Saturday in a crash that broke a power pole in Durham and knocked out electricity to some customers.

DURHAM, N.C. — A driver was charged with DWI on Saturday in a crash that broke a power pole in Durham and knocked out electricity to some customers.

The driver, who was not identified, crashed into a Duke Energy pole on Duke Street, according to Durham police.

Roughly 150 people were still without power shortly before 9 a.m., according to the Duke Energy website.
