Driver charged with DWI after crashing into Waffle House, hitting man

Police say a vehicle struck a man and then a Waffle House on Wednesday night.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police say a vehicle struck a man and then a Waffle House on Wednesday night.
According to WXII, the man who was struck has life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened at the Waffle House at 4302 Big Tree Way about 8 p.m.

Officers charged the driver, Kaitlyn Danielle Kennedy, for DWI and careless and reckless driving while license revoked.

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

Detectives say they are not sure if the SUV began to veer into the Waffle House before or after striking the pedestrian.

No one inside the restaurant was injured.
