Driver charged in motorcyclist's death
The State Highway Patrol filed charges Tuesday against a driver in connection with a fatal crash last week that killed a motorcyclist.
Posted — UpdatedGARNER, N.C. — The State Highway Patrol filed charges Tuesday against a driver in connection with a fatal crash last week that killed a motorcyclist.
Hugh Bailey, 89, of 4111 Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh, was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
Bailey tried to turn into a driveway in the 1600 block of Old Garner Road on Friday morning, and a westbound motorcyclist ran into the passenger side of his 1996 Ford pickup, authorities said.
William Joseph DeGrace, 33, of Garner, was pronounced dead at the scene.
