DUNN, N.C. — Cars were lining up for a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Johnston County hours before it opened on Wednesday.

The event begins at 10 a.m. and runs as long as supplies last at Galot Motorsports Park, located at 4129 N.C. Highway 242 in Dunn. At 7 a.m., dozens of cars were already in line.

Senior citizens 65 and older, health care workers and long-term care staff and residents are eligible to receive the vaccine at the clinic and at others across the state.

Participants are asked to bring an ID to prove their age or that they are a health care provider.

Johnston County residents and those who live nearby can text COVIDJOCO to 888777 to receive alerts on future clinics.

A vaccine clinic is also open in Fayetteville on Wednesday at the Crown Expo Center from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Appointments are needed before 1 p.m., then vaccines will be given on a first-come, first served basis.
