DURHAM, N.C. — Durham Performing Arts Center is known for hosting Broadway shows, popular comedians and musical acts, but the venue is also the home to some really fun community-based programs.

For aspiring Broadway stars, DPAC hosts the "Triangle Rising Stars" program to celebrate high school musical theater and "Next Stop Broadway," a summer intensive camp for ages 10 to 17 years old. "Triangle Rising Stars" is coming up on May 11.

The DPAC for All program actually offers special discounts for City of Durham residents. It started in February 2020 and offers select seating starting at $15 plus taxes per ticket, for residents of Durham for most Broadway shows and select special events. You can get those tickets by calling or visiting the DPAC ticket center and requesting "DPAC for All Seating."
On this week's Out and About Podcast, I find out about all of these programs and other community outreach projects from DPAC's Community Engagement Manager Megan Rindoks. This episode was recorded LIVE at the Earfluence podcast studio at American Underground in Durham on March 16, 2022. It was part of their day-long podcast marathon.
