WILSON, N.C. — Twenty-four people wanted on charges ranging from drug crimes to sex offenses to illegal weapons have been arrested over the past three days in Wilson County, authorities said Wednesday.

"Operation Joining Forces" was the first joint law enforcement operation in the county, involving Wilson police, Wilson County deputies and members of the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force, authorities said.

Authorities also were able to confirm that 118 registered sex offenders in Wilson County were in compliance with state and federal registration requirements. Three other sex offenders were arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender, authorities said.
