Dogwood Festival starts Friday
From free concerts to a wing eating contest, the Dogwood Festival has a nice mix of events planned. The fun kicks off Friday in Fayetteville.

From free concerts to a wing eating contest, the Dogwood Festival has a nice mix of events planned. The fun kicks off Friday in Fayetteville.
Some highlights of the Dogwood Festival, which runs through Sunday:
Friday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. - Fayetteville-Cumberland Crimestoppers will hold a barbecue with proceeds benefiting the local program. It is $6 a ticket and the event is being held at the Highland Center, 2800 Raeford Road.
Friday 8:30 p.m. - Wing eating contest at the Bud Light Stage.
Friday 9 p.m. - Country singer Gretchen Wilson takes the stage. Buy your tickets now if you want to get them online because internet sales end Thursday. Tickets are $10. (Immediately following the show there will be fireworks)
Saturday noon - 6 p.m. - Lafayette Ford hosts a classic car show. Prizes will be awarded.
Saturday 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. - The Cape Fear Harley Davidson Experience will give you a chance to try out the Jump Start Harley simulator.
Saturday 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. - The Child Advocacy Center is hosting a children's fun area across from Festival Park. There will be bubble blowing, face painting, an art wall and fishing for prizes.
Saturday 7 p.m. - Free concert by the Spin Doctors at the Bud Light Stage
Saturday 9 p.m. - Free concert by Eve 6 at the Bud Light Stage
And if all of that isn't enough, WRAL will have a tent there. Drop by and see some of your favorite WRAL-TV folks. Here is the appearance lineup for Saturday:
Greg Fishel Noon- 3 p.m.
Nate Johnson noon - 3 p.m.
Mike Maze 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Bryan Mims 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
