Dog shot, killed after biting woman's arm in Durham
The pitbull bit the woman's arm and didn't let go, despite the officer's efforts to coax the animal away.
during police officer was forced to kill a dog today. After investigators say it attacked a woman. Good evening and thanks for joining us tonight. I'm Julian Grace. The shooting happened around 10 o'clock this morning and the 600 block of Conover Road. That's where we find Aaron thomas who is live now with new details, erin well, Julian, this shooting happened in this vicinity behind me. I'm told by investigators that this dog belonged to a relative of the victim. An officer goes on to tell me that this dog was a pit bull. A woman in Durham was taken to the hospital with significant but non life threatening injuries after being attacked by a dog. It happened in a Durham neighborhood on Conover Road. Police say the dog was biting the woman's arm and would not let go. Investigators say they tried to lure the animal off of the woman, forcing an officer to shoot and kill it. It's unclear what prompted the dog to bite the woman. The incident remains under investigation. Police have not set of charges will be filed at this time. Mhm. And today I did make requests for 911 calls and body camera footage for any additional details Julian. This is the second violent dog attack in the triangle this week.
