Do you help your kids with their homework?
Are you crunching the numbers and researching that book report right now? Or are you hands off when it comes to homework?
Posted — UpdatedMy daughter will be headed to kindergarten this fall. And when I asked her school's principal how much homework she'll have once she gets there, I was a little shocked when the answer was 20 minutes. A night.
Then he described exactly what that homework would be and most of it was a recommendation from the school that we read to her for at least 15 minutes a day. No problem there.
But I know that over the next few years, her book bag will begin to come home loaded with more and more worksheets (do they still have those?) and other assignments.
How hands on are you when it comes to homework? Do you help your kids finish their assignments? Do you just answer a few questions? Or do you leave it up to them? Are they getting too much or too little?
