Distillery to open this fall in Zebulon
Olde Raleigh Distillery announced plans Tuesday to open a tasting room, bar and production facility in a 10,400 square-foot space on North Arendell Avenue in downtown. The venue will also include a large event space for private parties, workshops and other classes.
Posted — Updated“This has been a dream for a long time and I’m so proud my kids are seeing their dad grinding every day, pursuing his passion,” Master Blender and Distiller Brandon McCraney said. “Every aspect of the spirits, bottles and distillery has been thoughtfully designed down to the smallest hidden intricacies. That attention to detail combined with an admiration for and focus on the art and history of blending spirits is really what sets us apart. Everything we do is with purpose to create the best flavors and experiences for our guests.”
The distillery will focus on small-batch whiskey blends. It's signature blended bourbon will feature "three diverse bourbons from across the country made from different grains to create a complex and distinctive flavor profile," according to a press release.
The bourbon will come in a glass decanter that can be reused for other spirits.
The distillery also plans to do cask-finished limited-release whiskeys, the Century Club line of vodka and gin and a house-made heirloom bourbon.
“I’m so grateful for the support we’ve received from the entire Zebulon community, my fellow N.C. State alumni and really the whole Triangle,” McCraney said.
