Dinosaur World opens in Cumberland County on June 9

There are dinosaurs on the loose in Cumberland County!

If you love dinosaurs or if you're a kid at heart, you will love Sweet Valley Ranch on Sunnyside School Road right outside of Fayetteville.

WRAL's Fayetteville Reporter Gilbert Baez takes us through Dinosuar World in Cumberland County.

The park takes up over 300 acres. You can walk the dinosaur trail, where you'll bump into dinosaurs from all three pre-historic periods.

The attraction called Dinosaur World opens next week.

If you love dinosaurs or if you're a kid at heart, you will love Sweet Valley Ranch on Sunnyside School Road right outside of Fayetteville.

Fred and Anita Surgeon, the park owners, said that Sweet Valley is a place where nature meets adventure.

"What we wanted to do was have our dinosaurs in nature to where it ... resembles how they would actually be in the wild," Fred Surgeon said.

The dinosaurs are fully automated and move when visitors set off motion sensors near them.

There are 30 fully animated dinosaurs along the quarter mile trail. It an attraction that can be visited day or night.

The park opens June 9 and will stay open through August 8.
