TURKEY, N.C. — Sampson County sheriff's deputies are looking for a Clinton man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting early Sunday at a nightclub.

Deputies said Devante Rashawn Dixon, 22, of Clinton, shot and killed Christopher Romaine Jones at the Pumphouse club near Turkey.

A private party was taking place at the Wilmington Road club when Jones was shot at about 4:30 a.m.

Deputies said someone at the party transported Jones to Sampson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Warrants for murder and possession of a firearm by a felon were issued Sunday for Dixon, deputies said.

Dixon is described as a black man, approximately 6 feet tall with “tear drop” tattoos under his right eye. He is possibly armed and considered dangerous, deputies said.

Anyone with information on Dixon's whereabouts is asked to call the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-592-4141.
