WE HAVE SOME NEW INFORMATION RIGHT INTO OUR NEWSROOM FROM THE NASH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE. THIS ALL HAPPENED YESTERDAY MORNING AROUND 6.30, ON MIKE LANE IN NASHVILLE. THERE WAS A CONFRONTATION AND DISTURBANCE BETWEEN FAMILY MEMBERS AT THIS HOME AND TONIGHT THAT HE SHOT MCDONALD. 33 YEAR-OLD MOTHER IS IN CUSTODY. SHE ACCORDING TO DEPUTIES POURED LIGHTER FLUID ON HER 4 YEAR-OLD SON'S BED AND THEN TRIED TO SET THE BED AND HER SON ON FIRE. A SIBLING ACTUALLY INTERVENED. AND THEN MOMENTS LATER, THE NASH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE WAS ABLE TO GET THERE AND SETTLE THIS SITUATION WITHOUT ANY INJURIES. LUCKILY, RIGHT NOW THAT WOMAN WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR INVOLUNTARY COMMITMENT ORDER. DEPUTY SAY THAT SHE WAS HAVING SOME SORT OF SEVERE MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS. AGAIN, THIS WAS YESTERDAY MORNING ON MIKE LANE. THAT WOMAN IS EXPECTED TO BE FACING CHARGES OF FIRST-DEGREE MURDER. FIRST-DEGREE ATTEMPTED ARSON AND THAT WITH A CHILD ABUSE, THERE WERE 6 JUVENILES IN THE HOME AT THE TIME. ALL ARE IN

I'm meteorologist, Amy Wilmoth in the WRL severe weather center. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. If you want to maybe go out to eat, eat outside. It's beautiful to do that. 69 for brunch today. Plenty of sunshine at lunchtime. We're at 72 and then dinner time temperatures will be in the mid seventies so very nice weather. We do not expect any rain today, we'll have mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies for mother's day. High pressure settles in for the next couple of keeping the weather nice and quiet. But we will have another system arrive overnight Monday and especially into Tuesday, scattered showers and storms become likely Tuesday. It's a 70% chance for rain. A 60% chance for some showers and storms on Wednesday. So turning unsettled by the time we get to Monday night into Tuesday through the day today, we'll have mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Monday, we'll start off with sunshine at 8 a.m. but then the cloud move in the second half of the day. And then Monday night, some light rain starts to move in and by Tuesday morning, some light rain possible for the morning commute, we'll have some light scattered showers at lunchtime, we'll have some scattered showers. And then by the time we get to the afternoon we'll have scattered showers and perhaps some thunderstorms at this point, it doesn't look like we'd have any severe storms, but we'll keep checking on that and let you know if we do get in a severe storm risk. As of now, we're not in one, but it is going to be unsettled on and off throughout the day with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Today is nice for Mother's Day 79 for the high 81 Monday. So a little bit warmer and then scattered showers and storms Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday. It's quiet with a high of 82 but we're back to some storm chances Friday and Saturday with highs in the upper seventies to low to mid eighties.
