A man wanted on attempted murder charges in Greenville was taken into custody in Raleigh Wednesday after a chase.

Wake County deputies said they received a request for help from the Greenville Police Department to find Maleec Greene.

On Wednesday afternoon, deputies spotted Greene near the 5300 block of Old Wake Forest Road.

When Greene was driving away from the location, deputies tried to pull him over. Deputies said Greene then sped away from them.

Greene then crashed his car into a utility pole at the intersection of Gresham Lake and Litchford roads, deputies said.

He was then taken into custody and charged with felony speeding to elude.

Greene was taken to the Wake County Detention Center and will be transported to Pitt County to face the attempted murder charges.
