Deputies have more questions about Eureka Springs slaying

EUREKA SPRINGS, N.C. — Cumberland County investigators were questioning a man Wednesday about a slaying in Eureka Springs last month.

Deputies wanted to talk to Earnest Langston Curry, 24, of 405 Overton Place in Fayetteville in hopes of getting questions answered concerning the investigation.

Donyell Debron McCutchen, 35, of 1558 Hissop St., was shot to death on Sept. 30 after people forced their way into his home, authorities said.

Gregory David Sterling, 20, of 2971 Gordon Way, and Clarence Eugene Peterson, 18, of 1207 Wentworth Place, have been charged with first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
