Halifax, N.C. — Halifax County sheriff's deputies arrested April Clements of Landis Lane in Halifax on Wednesday and charged her with falsifying a break-in.
Det. Tyree Davis investigated the break-in and theft reported at Clements' home on Feb. 27. He found that Clements staged the theft to avoid paying for rented electronics. Davis recovered a flat-screen TV, Playstation II, DVD player, laptop computer and other property that Clements had listed as stolen.
She is charged with filing a false police report and larceny and was held on $1,000 bond.
