Authorities are investigating after a body was found in an Edgecombe County field Thursday.

<b>EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C.</b> — Authorities are investigating after a body was found in an Edgecombe County field Thursday.

The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office said the body of Dalvin Detron Redmon was found by a farmer on Ellis Road, outside Conetoe.

Authorities did not release details about how Redmon died, but said the circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious.

Deputies said the case is being investigated as a homicide.
