Folk rock band Delta Rae will be ringing in 2013 at First Night Raleigh.

Artsplosure, which sponsors the annual celebration downtown, announced Monday that the Durham group will perform on the festival's main stage in City Plaza leading up to the countdown to midnight by actor Ira David Wood III, the descent of the Raleigh Acorn and fireworks.

The band – siblings Ian, Eric and Brittany Hölljes, along with Elizabeth Hopkins, Mike McKee and Grant Emerson – have appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Conan."

Delta Rae's set will begin at 10:45 p.m. and cap off a full day of First Night fun in downtown. The event officially kicks off at 2 p.m. with the Children's Celebration at the North Carolina Museums of History and Natural Sciences, in the new Nature Research Center and on Bicentennial Plaza.

At 6 p.m. it is time for the People’s Procession followed by the early countdown and fireworks at 7 p.m.

Three dozen venues throughout downtown will host music, dance comedy and other performances throughout the evening.

The full list of performers will be announced later this week.

Admission passes, which provide access to all First Night venues, concerts, performances and interactive activities, go on sale Saturday for $9 each.
