Delta Dumps Moore County Season Flights

Posted Updated

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — Delta Airlines has flown its last flight from Moore County Airport, a spokeswoman said Thursday.

The airline had flown seasonal connections to Atlanta, using a 40-passenger jet, during golf season. Flights stopped for the winters.

Delta pulled up from the airport's 5,500-foot runaway for the last time on Nov. 12, spokeswoman Susan Elliott said.

Airport officials said flights had been about 55 percent full in the past year and that the flight's connection south did not mesh conveniently with many passengers' northern destinations.
