Death investigation underway after body found in car parked on Harnett County road

Live video of the scene from Sky 5 showed crime scene tape around a gray four-door car on a dirt road.

The sheriff's office said a call was made to the Dunn Police Department shortly after noon about a suspicious person leaning over in a vehicle. Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the intersection of East Wake Street and East Johnston Street around 12:15 p.m.

Deputies had to obtain a warrant in order to enter the vehicle.

Authorities said another crime scene was at an apartment complex, although it was not clear how that scene was related to the body found in the car.

There were about three law enforcement officers standing in the parking lot of the apartment complex, but there was no crime scene at the complex.

It was not immediately clear if foul play was suspected in the death.
