Deadly home invasion in Fayetteville leaves 1 dead, 2 hospitalized

Police said it was unclear if the person who was killed was the suspect or the homeowner.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One person is dead and two others are in the hospital after a deadly home invasion Tuesday night in Fayetteville.

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department arrived at the home on Alphin Street around 8:39 p.m., where they found a man who had been shot. He died at the scene.

His identity is not known at this time. Police are working to confirm whether the person who was killed was the homeowner or the suspect.

Two others were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police said both victims are in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing. No one is in custody at this time.
