Daily elk habit brings spectators close to nature

At dawn and at dusk during this time of year within the Cataloochee Valley inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, elk appear from the woods in a remote valley. They graze in open fields just a few feet from spectators and photographers who line a nearby road to watch and take pictures.
