Daily elk habit brings spectators close to nature

Haywood County, N.C. — At dawn and at dusk during this time of year within the Cataloochee Valley inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, elk appear from the woods in a remote valley. They graze in open fields just a few feet from spectators and photographers who line a nearby road to watch and take pictures.
