Changes to the ExtraCare® Rewards loyalty program

CVS is making some changes to the ExtraCare® Rewards loyalty program and they are offering a new free item through their app every week now through July!

ExtraCare® Rewards Changes

Beginning in July, the CVS ExtraCare® Rewards loyalty program will be paying 2% back in ExtraBucks rewards soon after nearly every transaction instead of paying it out on a quarterly basis.

The 2% back in ExtraBucks®Rewards on most purchases "will show up in the CVS App, on CVS.com, and on digital and paper receipts, moments after a purchase," the company shared in a statement.

In addition, they are adding a new $3 ExtraBucks Reward birthday benefit for members. The reward will be issued during their birthday month and are available to ExtraCare members who've opted in by sharing their birthday information. Members will receive the $3 reward via email, SMS text message and the CVS App, depending on which option members have opted in to in their account.

"These are the first changes to the program’s core 2% back benefit in its 20-year history. Members can choose to use their rewards on their next visit or watch them add up and spend them later, within 90 days of each respective issuance. This change comes with an upgraded and easy-to-navigate CVS App experience, where members can view, track and send all of their earnings and personalized deals directly to their ExtraCare card," the statement indicates.

Free Item Offer

To celebrate the changes, CVS is offering freebies in the CVS App starting now and running through the month of July. There will be a new free gift each week in the app for ExtraCare members including snacks, treats, health and beauty essentials.

For the week ending June 26, 2021, members can load a CVS digital coupon for a free Beauty 360 Nail Clippers worth up to $4.00. This offer is valid through 6/26/21. See the CVS app each week for a new free offer available to load.

If you download the CVS App, you can choose to receive coupon reminders and special offers via ExtraCare SMS text messages, including surprise deals.
