DURHAM, N.C. — Students at Eastway Elementary were released early on Monday after construction crews cut a water line that serves the school.
According to a spokesperson from Durham Public Schools, school buses evacuated students and staff to the Holton Career and Resource Center, located at 401 N. Driver St.
Parents and guardians can pick up their students there starting at 11:30 a.m., officials said.
According to officials, if parents are unable to pick up their children at that time, buses will take students home at their usual dismissal time.
Meals will be provided to all students waiting at the community center.
