STEDMAN, N.C. — Two Cumberland County school employees were involved in a collision Wednesday afternoon in Stedman.

Kenneth Earl Hancock Jr., an assistant principal at Reid Ross Classical School, was killed when his motorcycle hit a truck driven by Sandra Autry Wrench, a secretary at Stedman Elementary School.

According to the state Highway Patrol, Hancock swerved into Wrench's lane and the two vehicles collided head-on. Hancock was killed instantly.

Wrench was treated for minor injuries.

Hancock, a former member of the staff at Terry Sanford High School, started work at Ross July 21.

A school spokeswoman said the Terry Sanford football team would dedicate Friday's game to Hancock's memory.
