Crews respond to house fire on Figure Eight Island
Multiple crews were battling a house fire on Figure Eight Island, north of Wrightsville Beach on Wednesday afternoon.

FIGURE EIGHT ISLAND, N.C. — Multiple crews were battling a house fire on Figure Eight Island, north of Wrightsville Beach on Wednesday afternoon, according to NBC affiliate WECT News.
According to a tweet by the Wilmington Fire Department, they are assisting crews from New Hanover County Fire and Rescue with a house fire on South Beach Road.
When crews arrived, smoke and flames were visible from the two-story family home, according to the fire crews.
