<b>APEX, N.C.</b> — Fire officials in Apex are trying to determine what caused a serious fire at a golf shop early Tuesday.

Around 3 a.m., firefighters responded to the Tee to Green golf shop and driving range located at 3501 U.S. 64.

Crews investigating fire at Apex golf shop

When crews arrived, they quickly extinguished a fire in the first floor golf shop. Merchandise, including clothing and golf clubs, was damaged in the fire.

Officials were still on the scene at 5 a.m. trying to find out what caused the fire, which occurred while the shop was closed.
