CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Crews from Chapel Hill and Carrboro spent Tuesday morning battling a fire at a home near Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. Around 20 firefighters were called to the scene at 6:20 a.m.

WRAL's Sky 5 showed a hole cut in the roof of the home, likely done by firefighters to help them access the flames.

The two residents, who appeared to be college students, were seen escaping through the front door of the home. They have been displaced as a result of the fire damage.

Fire crews expect to remain on the scene for several more hours. The fire is still under investigation.
