Crash on I-540 sends bicyclist to hospital

Trooper Lee with the NC Highway Patrol said a woman was trying to turn her car to exit onto Leesville Road from Interstate 540 around 3:30 p.m. She had the green light and was not at fault. The bicyclist was riding in front of her when she turned, hit him and ran over him.

The cyclist, who had not been identified, was rushed to Duke Hospital. His status was uncertain as troopers continued to investigate the scene.
