RALEIGH, N.C. — A driver crashed her vehicle into a telephone pole and a tree Thursday night, closing part of Oberlin Road in Raleigh for hours.

The crash occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Police said the car was speeding.

The driver was pinned inside the car after the crash. She suffered serious injuries, but they were not life-threatening.

The impact of the crash was so intense that debris from the car flew about 50 feet and smashed out a window of a nearby business, police said.
