Jack Tar & The Colonel's Daughter

— If you like your late night meals in Durham, you now have a new downtown option. Jack Tar & The Colonel’s Daughter is open in the downstairs of the Unscripted Hotel!

After a late night reporting, I was hungry for dinner at 11 p.m., and I knew it was time to give this new restaurant a go. It’s open from 7 a.m. to midnight every day!

Inside, it’s the chic-est diner you can imagine, with tons of exposed wood and large windows. The menu is diverse, catering to those wanting to grab a healthy bite or those wanting to splurge (my hearty grilled cheese and tomato soup was just what the doctor ordered).

Whenever I work the night shift, I eat dinner around midnight. So glad to have another late night option in #Durham! @jacktar_durham

The space also has what the waiter referred to as the “secret room.” A bar, just to the right when you walk in. It offers a different, dark, cozy vibe.

Very excited to have this new option downtown!
