Cow, horse shot in Wayne County

Wayne County animal control officers are looking for clues about the November shooting deaths of a cow and a horse.

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — Wayne County animal control officers are looking for clues about the November shooting deaths of a cow and a horse.

Deputies said they do not believe the cases are connected.

The cow’s owner found the animal shot to death on the morning of Nov. 18 in the 1800 block of Highway 55 in Mount Olive.

The horse, which was running loose, was shot the morning of Nov. 19 in the area of Adams Road in Seven Springs.
