SMITHFIELD, N.C. — Many counties were holding coronavirus vaccine clinics for senior citizens and healthcare workers on Friday, and as usual, long lines are expected.
A drive-thru clinic opens at 10 a.m. at Johnston Community College in Smithfield and will vaccinate eligible groups until doses run out.

By 5 a.m., almost 100 cars were already waiting in line.

The vaccine clinic at Halifax Community College in Weldon also continues Friday. Long lines created traffic delays in the area on Thursday, and staff expect the same turnout again. The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and again on Saturday.
Vaccines will also be administered at the Crown Complex in Fayetteville. Online appointment slots are available in three-hour blocks from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. After 1 p.m., no appointments are needed, and vaccines will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Crown Complex is holding regular clinics on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. A special clinic will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In Wayne County, people can schedule an appointment online or by calling 919-705-1800 to get vaccinated at The Maxwell Center.

Individuals must have an appointment and should only show up five minutes prior to their appointment time to receive a vaccine.

In Harnett County, a first-come, first-served vaccine clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington.
In Wake County, eligible groups are asked to register online or call a hotline to request a vaccine. Staff will call them back when an appointment is ready.

For all clinics, healthcare workers, staff and residents of long-term care facilities and senior citizens 65 and older are considered eligible. The vaccine is provided at no cost, but people are asked to bring their IDs.
