WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Cosplay and celebrities highlighted Wizard World comicon on Saturday at the Benton Convention Center.

A trio of stars from Fox's "Gotham" posed with fans and signed autographs. When asked about what the fifth, and final, season of the show has in store, the actors tried to keep it under wraps

"The fifth and final season is called 'No Man's Land,'" said Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred on the show. "It (Gotham) becomes kind of like 'Escape from New York.' It is cut off from the main land, cut off from the new of the world."

With various gangs fighting for power in the city, the shining beacon of hope is the Gotham City Police Department, lead by Jim Gordon, and Bruce Wayne.

"You are going to see a Gotham descend into lunacy and be run by separate crime bosses," Pertwee said.

One of Gotham's popular villains, Oswald Cobblepot aka Penguin, is fighting for power.

"(He) has claimed one of the more strategic areas of the city. He's living large on very little means," said Robin Lord Taylor, who plays the villain.

And what's ahead for Bruce Wayne? Will he finally fulfill his destiny and become "Batman" before the series is over?

His portrayer, David Mazouz, isn't giving much away.

"You are left on the edge of your seat in regards to that question until the end of the series," Mazouz said.

When the season begins, expect Bruce to be working to help those in need.

"Eventually we will see that choice transform him into the vigilante that we know that wears a cape," Mazouz said.

And Bruce isn't the only character that is going to see a change this season.

"The characters start to become more apparent, they start to become the characters that everyone knows and loves," Pertwee said. "So towards the end, you are going to see the full circle. You are gonna see the Aflred/Bruce relationship that has been looming, the Gordon relationship, with a mustache possibly."

This media cannot be viewed right now.

What is ahead for everyone's favorite butler? Pertwee has an idea.

"I'm hoping he has a love affair at some point. I think he deserves it at this stage. It's been five years," he said.

The fifth season is currently shooting in New York City, but won't air until January. While they still have some time left together, Pertwee said the situation is still bittersweet.

"There's going to be a lot of tears. There already are, but we are incredibly close and they are family," he said.

Taylor echoed those feelings.

"I've been reliving a lot of those past couple years. My life has changed so remarkably. It's hard to articulate and now it's sort of in this context where it's coming to an end," Taylor said. "I'm just so incredibly grateful. It was one audition. It was one audition. I was in the right place at the right time and it was the right role and look what it lead to."

'Charmed' stars talk reboot

The stars of the popular show "Charmed" were also on hand to reminisce about the series, which ran for eight seasons. Holly Marie Combs (Piper Halliwell) and Brian Krause (Leo Wyatt) often do fan conventions together, only fitting since they were married on-screen.

"It's amazing we are still together after all this time," Combs said.

The CW announced that it will be rebooting the series this fall and has marketed it as a adding a "feminist" storyline. The network has not said if any past cast members will be involved.

"It's funny because it all got off on such the wrong foot the way they did the marketing. I hope the show is better than the marketing because the marketing was very kind of insulting and offensive to us," Combs said.

Krause said the reboot has some "big shoes to fill" and would benefit from connecting to its roots.

"If they wanted me to be part of it and continue on or add to the storyline, I only think that the show could really succeed if you bring back Holly's character, you need to kind of integrate the two shows and that would make the fans happy," he said.

Combs said she would "never say never" to appearing on the show in the future, adding that she "hopes it's good."
