Greensboro police issued an Amber Alert on Thursday for Kayson Osiah Monk, 9 months, who is believed to be with Deon Lamar Monk, 23. Police did not say how the two are related.

The YMCA of the Triangle will open several outdoor pools on Friday.




The pools will be required to follow strict guidelines as part of Gov. Roy Cooper's executive order.

All lifeguards and staff will wear face masks and count each person who enters the pool area to make sure the space stays at 50% capacity.

Friday is the first day ten YMCA pools open across the Triangle. The pools are required to follow serious guidelines from the governor, so the experience could look a little different. WRAL's Kasey Cunningham reports from the pool.

Triangle YMCA pools reopen

Staff will also space out deck chairs to socially distance members and will ask people to wipe down their own chair before and after use.

People who want to swim laps or use lanes for water fitness will need to make reservations.

The YMCA asks members to be patient with the changes so pool season can be as safe as possible.

Summer day camps will start June 1, and there will be social distancing, small groups and lots of cleaning.

The Hope Valley Farms YMCA Pool in Durham opens June 1. Locations and hours of pools opening Friday include:

Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. - 8 p.m., family swim begins at 10 a.m.

Saturday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., family swim begins at 10 a.m.

YMCA at Meadowmont Pool - Chapel Hill

Monday - Saturday: 9 a.m. - 7:50 p.m.
