UPDATE: Jeff Hogan reports on Sept. 11 that his family has all tested negative for the coronavirus.

RALEIGH, N.C. — WRAL News anchor Jeff Hogan will be reporting from home the next couple of weeks because of a case of coronavirus in his family.

Hogan says one of his daughters tested positive for the virus after a visit to see a friend. He wasn’t around her prior to her exposure, and she’s now isolated in the family's home.

He has tested negative twice, but because there is now a case in his home, WRAL is playing it extremely safe. So, he won't return to the studio until his daughter has tested negative and he tests negative again 48 hours later.

"It's a sign of the times. I am just dealing with a little bit of what a lot of folks are out there dealing with," he said Thursday morning.

Hogan said his daughter is doing well.
