RALEIGH, N.C. — An international crisis, yet the criminals never stop.

5 On Your Side's Monica Laliberte has a warning, and parents need to take note because kids are some of the targets.

Look out for apps that contain malware.
Malware attacks are becoming more common
So many kids are online right now, with parents trying to keep them busy and learning while school is out.

But watch what you're using.

The cyber security vendor Check Point Software says malware was spotted in 56 apps on Google Play.
Almost half of the apps were targeted to children.

They were downloaded 1 million times.

The apps in question have been removed from Google Play.

It's good reminder to watch what you and your kids download, or links that you open.
