Vaccine clinics hope for spike in participation amid news of $1M prize
Amid news of North Carolina offering }a $1 million cash prize will encourage people to get the COVID-19 vaccine, more vaccine clinics are opening up to help people change their health, and maybe their life, for the better.

The Your Shot at $1 Million Summer Cash Drawing runs June 23 to Aug. 4. A drawing for a $1 million prize will be held every other Wednesday during that period, and anyone who's gotten at least one dose of vaccine since last December is automatically eligible. People vaccinated on or after Thursday will have two chances at each prize.
On Friday, Gov. Roy Cooper is expected to update the state's coronavirus restrictions. North Carolina's current executive order on restrictions is set to end today. Cooper said he will release another order today.
The state of emergency will remain in place because it gives the state flexibility in how it uses federal relief funds.
