ROW, THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOSPITALIZATIONS HAS TOPPED 1,000. TODAY, 1,193. >>> AND MANY UNC STAFF MEMBERS DO NOT TRUST THE LEADERS. THAT WAS ONE OF THE FINDINGS IN A REPORT PUBLISHED BY THE EMPLOYEE FORUM. WE SPOKE WITH STAFF ABOUT THE CONCERNS. >> Reporter: THIS REPORT IS CRITICAL OF UNC LEADERS WHO HAVE OFFICES IN THIS BUILDING. IT AIMS TO BE CRITICAL IN A WAY THAT PROMOTES PROGRESS ON THE CAMPUS. THIS REPORT WAS PUBLISHED THIS WEEK BY THE UNC EMPLOYEE FORUM AFTER SURVEYING HUNDREDS OF STAFF MEMBERS. IT SAYS ONLY 4.5% OF RESPONDENTS FELT LIKE ADMINISTRATORS WERE DOING THEIR BEST AND/OR A GOOD JOB. IT SHOWED A MISTRUST OF UNIVERSITY LEADERS. TRACEY HAS BEEN A HOUSEKEEPER AT UNC FOR TEN YEARS. SHE SAID SHE LOST TRUST WHEN SHE FOUND OUT ABOUT A CLUSTER OF CASE ON CAMPUS FROM THE NEWS RATHER THAN UNC. >> YOU ARE HIDING THINGS FOR OUR SAFETY. YOU'RE HIDING IT. SO WOULD YOU TRUST ANYBODY THAT DID THAT? >> I HAVE ALREADY GOTTEN A RESPONSE FROM THE CHANCELLOR'S OFFICE. I HAVE GOTTEN A RESPONSE FROM SENIOR LUP. LEADERSHIP. >> Reporter: SHE IS THE CHAIR OF THE FORUM. SHE SENT THE REPORT TO THE CHANCELLOR ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND FEELS LIKE PROGRESS IS ALREADY HAPPENING. >> WE HAVE A RELATIONSHIP THAT WORKS. AND WHY IT WORKS IS THAT WE ARE ABLE TO BE HONEST WITH THEM, AND THEY ARE ABLE TO HEAR US. >> Reporter: IN A STATEMENT, THE CHANCELLOR SAID WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE FEEDBACK OF OUR EMPLOYEES WHO ARE PERFORMING THEIR JOBS UNDER STRESSFUL AND DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES. WE LOOK FORWARD TO THOROUGHLY REVIEWING THE RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONTINUING THE CONVERSATION WITH THE EMPLOYEE FORUM. THIS REPORT OFFERS THREE RECOMMENDATION ASKED FOR MORE RESOURCE FOR STAFF, ASKING LEADERS TO BE MORE TRANSPARENT, AND ASKING THEM TO ABANDON TOXIC POSITIVITY, WHICH THEY SAY SHOWS A LACK OF EMOTIONAL AWARENESS FOR HOW HARD THIS TIME REALLY IS.
