Virtual course offers parents tips to stay calm amid holiday stress
The Partnership for Children of Wayne County is offering a course for parents facing adversity and stressful situations during the pandemic and the holiday season.
Posted — UpdatedThe class, Resources for Resilience, is a 14-hour virtual course.
"It helps bring them from those stressful situations where they may be panicked or experiencing anxiety or where they even shut down to a state of calm," said Shelly Willis, the Early Care and Education Director for the Partnership for Children of Wayne County.
Angela Frady, a grandmother raising her two grandsons who also works for the Partnership for Children, says the training helped her through tumultuous times.
Her grandsons, 8 and 20 years old, are both in virtual learning.
"I’ve had some very stressful times, but with the network that I have – from work, to personal – has really helped me maintain and barrel through," she said.
The program is funded through the North Carolina Partnership for Children. You must be a Wayne County resident to register for this particular program, but this class is offered in other counties throughout the state.
