Get a COVID-19 vaccine, get $100 at NCCU clinic

North Carolina Central University is offering Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccines on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

DURHAM, N.C. — North Carolina Central University will give out $100 to the first 150 people to receive their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine Wednesday at their on-campus clinic.

According to NCCU, the money comes from the state health department.

This initiative is similar to the state's $100 incentive program, which just ended in August. The program was so popular that locations began running out of cards.

Vaccines will be given out beginning at 10 a.m. at the Alfonso Elder Student Union at 1801 Fayetteville St. Participants can sign up online to guarantee their appointment or walk-in, but some slots are already filled.

The clinic will offer the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccines.

Currently, 61% of the state is fully vaccinated.

NCCU and North Carolina A&T are competing to "crush COVID-19." The university with the most people vaccinated against coronavirus will receive bragging rights and a trophy at the Eagle-Aggie football game in September, NCCU's website says.
