Principal of Enfield Middle School in Halifax County dies with COVID-19, according to Halifax County superintendent
Teicher Patterson, the principal of Enfield Middle School in Halifax County, has died. He was battling with COVID-19, Halifax County Superintendent Eric Cunningham confirmed to WRAL News Friday night.

AROUND 9:35 THIS EVENING WE GOT A TIP INTO THE NEWSROOM ABOUT THE DEATH OF A PRINCIPAL IN HALIFAX COUNTY. WE STARTED MAKING PHONE CALLS. THIS IS A PHOTO OF MISTER PATTISON, THE PRINCIPLE OF INFIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL IN HALIFAX COUNTY. THE SUPERINTENDENT TALK TO ME AND SAID THAT MISTER PATTERSON WAS BATTLING COVID-19. HE HAD BEEN SICK, BUT THIS CAME AS A COMPLETE SURPRISE AND IT IS GOING TO FEEL HORRIBLE, FOR NOT JUST THE MIDDLE SCHOOL, PARENTS AND STUDENTS, BUT THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. >> MISTER PATTERSON DID HAVE DIFFICULTY. WE DO NOT KNOW THE CAUSE OF HIS DEATH. WE WILL CONTINUE THE OPERATION IN THE WAY THAT WE DO HERE. LOVING EACH OTHER, STICKING TOGETHER, AND WORKING THROUGH THE WAYS OF LIFE. THAT IS WHAT WE CALL THEM. THIS IS ANOTHER WAVE THAT HAS HIT HALIFAX COUNTY. >> I ASKED THE SUPERINTENDENT HOW YOU GO FORWARD. ALREADY THE STUDENTS THERE WILL BE ONLINE, LIKE THE HALL COUNTY HAS. HE SAYS, JUST LIKE MISTER PATTERSON WOULD'VE WANTED, THEY WILL STICK TOGETHER AND RIDE IT
