Posted â UpdatedThe state has partnered with Radeas Labs to open a new testing site in Franklin County in the parking lot of LBJ Cars, a used car dealership located at 1188 U.S. Highway 401 South in Louisburg. It's about a 40 minute drive from downtown Raleigh, and officials say test results will be available within 12 to 36 hours. No appointment or pre-registration is required for the test, which is offered at no-cost.
The site will be open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You do not have to live in the area to get a test.
The demand for testing has continued to grow as coronavirus cases reach record numbers. After winter weather and the holiday weekend, many people will be seeking tests Tuesday, and lines could be long at sites in the Triangle.
Radeas Labs told WRAL News it is reassigning staff from out of state to accommodate the high demand in North Carolina.
Other COVID-19 testing options
A busy COVID-19 testing site in Raleigh is moving locations on Tuesday. The no-appointment-needed site at Southbridge Fellowship Church will now be at Summit Church on Capital Hills Drive. It is open from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
