PINEHURST, N.C. — A nursing home in Moore County has reported a coronavirus outbreak, with 48 residents and 10 staff members confirmed positive.

An outbreak is defined as two or more lab-confirmed cases. This is the second outbreak at The Greens at Pinehurst.

The Greens' first outbreak was declared concluded as of Oct. 30. That outbreak generated a total of eight confirmed cases.

Tests conducted from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2 produced the newest round of positive results. Now, the facility will continue testing weekly until the outbreak is concluded.

Peak Resources Pinelake and Quail Haven are also experiencing their second outbreak. Moore County has had 19 outbreaks in long-term care facilities this year.

In total, there have been 3,089 confirmed coronavirus cases in Moore County to date.
