RALEIGH, N.C. — NC State and UNC Chapel Hill both announced plans Tuesday to re-introduce in-person learning in the spring semester, but the two universities are operating on slightly different timelines.

NC State's online, in-person and hybrid classes all began on Tuesday. Students in university housing began moving into single-occupancy rooms on Jan. 16, while students began moving back into Greek Village on Jan. 14.

UNC announced a dissimilar approach and said it is delaying the start of in-person classes by three weeks.

Like NC State, UNC undergraduate classes still began on Tuesday, as scheduled, but in-person learning will not begin until February 8th.

UNC students were allowed to return to campus residence halls on Jan. 13, but students will have the option to delay their move-in date up until Feb. 7.
