Long haul: COVID-19 survivor spends 196 days in hospital
Deanna Hair is finally heading home after a months-long battle with coronavirus, warning others "COVID is real and it's deadly."
Well, this is one remarkable story. All these people here are in support of team, and that's the woman who spent more than six months here in the hospital. But now she's finally being let out. It's a reunion more than six months in the making. We're just here to show our support and welcome her as she moves on to the next phase of her recovery. Deanna Hair has been a few of them hospital since nearly the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. All the time I kept expecting to get bad news. But now, after 196 days under the doctor's care, her time has finally come to go home, I think, has been a wake up call. How serious? Uh, Cove in 19 can be for some patients, family and friends calling themselves Team D, all showing their support from a distance with hand written signs of encouragement. This is a big and potentially overwhelming time for D, so it's our way of, you know, sending our messages of care and support from a distance. I took care of you and I was and conscious for about 2.5 months. That's all I really don't remember them, but I Sure I'm thankful. And in the end, hopefully it could be another reminder that the virus should be taken seriously are my life and our lives have been changed forever? Cove. It is riel, and it's deadly. And we're wishing Deanna very speedy recovery. Victor Williams, Local four.
