CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Garth Brooks has postponed his upcoming concert at the Bank of America Stadium to June 13.

All tickets purchased for the May 2 show will be honored.

"Like so many people right now, I just want to get back to what I do," Brooks wrote in the press release issued Tuesday. "Knowing these shows are eventually going to happen makes me happy."

On Monday, the country music star started livestreaming acoustic concerts on his Facebook page. Many other music stars are doing the same to reach fans staying at home to practice social distancing.

NBC Charlotte reported the June show will be Brooks' first time in the Queen City in 22 years. It will be the only North Carolina stop on the tour.

According to Tepper Sports and Entertainment, the concert will be the largest paid crowd in the stadium's history. When tickets for the show first went on sale in December, Brooks sold 74,000 in only 90 minutes.

Brooks has been awarded CMA Entertainer of the Year seven times, a first for any artist. His current single, "Dive Bar,” was recorded with Blake Shelton. The day of its debut on country radio, “Dive Bar" was the most added song with 135 total stations.
