Masks are required, especially when in close proximity to others. The farm also has several sanitizing and hand-washing stations around the property.
If you are looking to go to the farm, you can try out the tractor hayrides, where Naylor says there is plenty of room for people to sit apart from each other.
Naylor Farms also has a life-sized Blackbeard’s ship to explore and a corn maze.
"I think we can still pull off a good season and a safe season. Our customers’ safety is our utmost concern," Naylor said.
Children can pet horses, cows and calves as well as try to get close to chickens that roam the property.
But, Naylor acknowledged that no public space can claim to be risk-free.
"This is a real low risk situation ... it's wide open," he said. "Even the jump-warehouse we have right now is wide open. It’s not enclosed."
The family farm adventure is what families with kids need right now, he said. Good, old-fashioned fun outdoors on the farm while staying safe.
Naylor Family Farm is open on Monday through Thursday by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 910-249-2258.
On Fridays and Sundays, the park is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The farm opened on Sept. 12 and will close in November.
