Nurse Practitioner Schquthia Peacock speaks with a patient seeking a coronavirus test at Preston Medical Associates in Cary, N.C., on March 18 (Darrell Pryor/WRAL).

— Free COVID-19 testing will be offered in Orange County on Labor Day.

Testing will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. at the parking lot directly in front of the Whitted Human Services Center.

Anyone is welcome to get tested for the coronavirus, officials said. Even if you are not symptomatic or did not have close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, you can still get tested.

You do not have to register in advance for the test.

When receiving the test, you can choose to either be in your car or do a walk-up test.

Results are available on average in three days, according to officials.
